NFL Fans Lose Daniel Jones, Tracy, and the Giants to Bryce Young, Chuba, and the Panthers | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats and Rumors

The New York Giants’ season – and perhaps the Daniel Jones era – hit a new low when the team lost 20-17 in overtime to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Munich, Germany.

Graham Gano’s 42-yard field goal in the waning seconds of regulation forced overtime. Instead of giving the Giants a substitution to salvage victory from the jaws of defeat, the overtime period only brought more embarrassment.

Running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. fumbled on the first play of overtime, and the Panthers recovered the ball at New York’s 23-yard line.

This sucks for Tyrone Tracy, man.
He’s been one of the Giants’ best players this season, he didn’t deserve to be the guy that cost them their demise.

Panthers kicker Eddy Pineiro split the uprights from 36 yards to give Carolina the win.

While Tracy’s failure was the most important play in the game, he may escape some of the scrutiny that comes with such a costly turnover. And he can thank his quarterback for that.

Trailing by 10, Jones scored on a two-yard touchdown run to make it a three-point game with 8:33 to play in the fourth quarter.

New York’s offense was presented with a golden opportunity to take the lead a little later, thanks to Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard. This put the Giants on 1st and 10 just outside the red zone.

They failed to score any points after Jones, who finished second in the competition, intervened. The play was a perfect microcosm of the team’s struggles, between Jones failing to make a great shot and the ball bouncing off Tracy’s hands.

Jones finished with 190 yards and two picks in the air.

Increasingly the signal caller of the sixth year seems to be on borrowed time In the Big Apple. His progress in 2022 was a mirage, and he is certainly not the solution at this position.

After a similar showing to Sunday, head coach Brian Daboll may think it’s time to take off the bandage. Some on social media believe this change is necessary.

Although there is nothing miraculous here, I think we are watching the last photos of Daniel Jones as the Giant.
Drew Lock isn’t the answer, of course, but a 23 million injury guarantee for Jones for 2025 means that at 2-8, it would be crazy to let him play one more snap. https://t.co/pzBbLiKqBZ

New York’s organization as a whole also faced a lot of disdain:

At least for now, the Giants hold alone the worst record in the NFL at 2-8. If fans haven’t given up on the playoffs yet, they probably have given up now. Their mindset is shifting towards the 2025 NFL draft and where the G-Men will pick in the first round.

The higher the selection, the better it is for New York to find a long-term replacement for Jones.

Meanwhile, with the Giants having a bye in Week 11, benching Jones may be under serious consideration. This will give backup Drew Lock a little more time to settle into the starting role and some inevitable rhetoric to calm down. Just before the team’s next game.
