Meet the Singapore-based start-up that uses artificial intelligence to examine ingredients, from coffee beans to milk

Agricultural businesses spend millions of dollars each year sending samples to each other. However, a Singapore-based technology company claims to have found a solution to the industry’s logistics costs and carbon footprint. “The current process is that whenever you have a buyer and a seller, the buyer will need physical samples before placing an order,” Alan Lai, founder and CEO of Profile Print, told “CNBC Tech: The Edge.” “You can imagine a two to three round process between buyer and seller.” “Profile Print digitizes food ingredients so buyers and sellers no longer need to physically send samples,” Lai added. Profile Print uses its patented digital fingerprint technology Instituto CNA, a government-backed organization representing Brazil’s agricultural sectors as well as two of Brazil’s largest coffee producers, says: they actually have to roast it, grind it to a certain level, “Get the size, brew the coffee, let it cool, and have a team taste the coffee before making a decision to buy or sell,” Lai said. Merchants who can evaluate the suitability of the raw ingredient can also create AI models for specific customers to determine whether the product matches their appearance and flavor preferences. Watch Lai demonstrate the Profile Print technology in the video above. #CNBC #AI #FoodTechnology —– Subscribe: CNBC International TV: LinkedIn: TikTok: Facebook: Instagram: Topics: X: Telegram: WhatsApp: https://bit.ly/CNBCiWhatsApp
