    In the “win or go” match between Lionel Messi and Inter Miami CF against Atlanta United FC, the goal scored in the 76th minute gave Atlanta a 3-2 victory at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale. With this win, Atlanta advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, while Miami was eliminated.

    Despite Messi scoring a goal in the second half, fans were stunned by the defeat.

    Miami was in first place in the Eastern Conference, and with their elimination, all of the top three seeds in the East were eliminated in the first round.

    Miami and Atlanta entered Saturday’s game tied with one win each. Miami won the 1st game 2-1, while Atlanta won the 2nd game 2-1.

    Both teams scored early in the play-off match. Inter Miami made the first strike with Matias Rojas’ goal in the 17th minute, followed by Jamal Thiare’s goal against Atlanta United in the 19th minute.

    In the 21st minute, striker Thiare scored once again, giving Atlanta a 2-1 lead in the first half.

    Outside the first half, Messi scored his first post-season goal in the 65th minute and equalized the score 2-2.

    To end the match, Atlanta’s Bartosz Slisz scored in the 76th minute to secure the victory.

    Miami recorded a staggering 25 shot attempts compared to Atlanta’s nine and controlled 64.3 percent of the possession, but they were unable to secure the victory.

    Following the game, Miami fans took to social media to express their disappointment in losing to the lower-seeded Atlanta team.
