HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — An investigation is ongoing after a couple was found dead at a complex in western Harris County on Saturday, according to authorities.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check at 19770 Clay Road around 4 p.m.

Deputies believe the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Friday.

Authorities say the man and woman are Cuban and have been married for nine years and are living separately. They were identified as a 48-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, according to HCSO.

Investigators said the husband shot and killed his wife based on where the gun was placed, then turned the gun on himself.

Investigators believe this may have been a murder-suicide.
