According to ESPN sources, Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, who started the NBA season at the MVP level, suffered an injury to his left calf on Friday night and will be re-evaluated in two weeks. During the team’s hot 8-1 start, Durant averaged 27.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game, while shooting 55.3% from the field and 42.9% from three.

Naturally, it’s nearly impossible for the Suns to replace him. The onus will be on Devin Booker and Bradley Beal to further address the usage and scoring gap. As for changing his minutes, Royce O’Neale thinks he’ll see more floor time at the 4 with KD gone.

The Suns will play without Durant on Sunday night against the visiting Sacramento Kings.
