Prime Minister Anwar condemns deadly railway bombings in Quetta and says Malaysia stands with Pakistan against terrorism

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed his sorrow over the horrific bombing incident in Quetta, Pakistan, which claimed the lives of at least 24 people and injured many others.

“On behalf of Malaysia, I extend our deepest condolences to the people of Pakistan who mourn this senseless and devastating loss,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.

These acts of utter brutality and violence, targeting both civilians and security personnel, are a reminder of the relentless threats posed by extremism and ideological rigidity that undermine progress and peace in Muslim societies, Anwar said.

He reaffirmed Malaysia’s firm solidarity with the Pakistani government in its determined fight against terrorism.

According to international media, at least 24 people were killed and more than 40 people were injured in a bomb attack at a train station in Quetta, southwestern Pakistan, on Saturday.
