One person charged in October fatal shooting in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting stemming from an argument in East Kansas City in early October.

Jackson County, Missouri, Circuit Court Records filed Thursday, Nov. 7, reveal that 21-year-old Juan C. Hernandez-Alonso of Kansas City has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting in October.

The public grand jury indictment filed Thursday said Hernandez-Alonso was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action for the Oct. 4 shooting.

Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department On October 4, around 8:30 p.m., at E. 20th and Drury Ave. near First Regular Baptist Church. He said that emergency teams were called to the area for a report of an armed attack. They found Rommel U. Nolasco-Mazuelez, 30, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said an argument broke out between Nolasco-Mazuelez and Hernandez-Alonso, leading to gunshots.

Court records noted that if convicted, Hernandez-Alonso could face 10 to 30 years in prison for the murder charge and 3 to 15 years in prison for the weapons charge. He has been held behind bars since Saturday, November 9. US Immigration No bonds listed.

The hearing is scheduled for 14:00. Monday, November 25th. No further information has been released.
