PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Ahead of Veterans Day, 6abc and residents across Philadelphia are honoring the men and women who served our nation. Veterans Parade!

10th annual Veterans Parade The event, proudly sponsored by 6abc, will begin at noon on Sunday, November 10.

Officials say the parade will take a new route this year, starting at 21st Street along the Ben Franklin Parkway. It will end around 4 p.m. right in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Eakins Oval.

Action News’ Alicia Vitarelli and Sharrie Williams will host the parade along with Chief Robert Irvine and Brigadier General Maureen Weigl.

Closed Roads:

The following streets will be closed from 06:00 to 17:00 on Sunday:

– Eakins Oval

The following streets will be closed from 08:00 on Sunday due to the parade’s starting area:

– Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 18th Street and 21st Street

The following streets will be closed from 11.30am on Sunday and will reopen when the march is over:

– Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 21st Street and Eakins Oval (The Parade will travel around the north side of Eakins Oval and end on the south side)

Parking Restrictions:

Streets closed for the parade will be declared “Temporarily No Parking” zones on Sunday, according to city officials. Drivers were warned that vehicles parked in these places during the specified hours would be relocated.

Local leaders say additional road closures and parking restrictions may be necessary in the area around the parade.

Public Transportation:

SEPTA Bus Routes 7, 31, 32, 33, 38, 44, 48, 49, 124 and 125 will deviate from their normal routes Sunday from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Detours will be posted and specific route changes will be available on the System Status Page at: septa.org.
