In the suicide attack on Quetta Railway Station on Saturday morning, at least 24 people, including 14 soldiers, lost their lives and sent shockwaves through the region. The attack, which occurred just as the Peshawar-bound express was preparing to depart, injured dozens of people, many critically, in what was one of the deadliest attacks in the region in recent months.

The bombing targeted a crowded platform in the heart of the southwestern city of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province. CCTV footage, widely circulated on social media, captured the harrowing moment the explosion occurred at the station. In the video, it is seen that the explosion shattered the platform, bodies were scattered over the debris, and the steel roof on the station’s platform collapsed after the explosion. As the platform descended into chaos, passengers waiting for the train were seen running for their lives in panic.

Separatist group Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the bombing, stating that it was an attack targeting military personnel.

The explosion occurred shortly before the departure of the Peshawar-bound Jaffer Express, and the station was filled with debris and broken glass. The attack also caused serious damage to the station’s infrastructure, including a tea stall that was destroyed in the explosion. Emergency services responded quickly and took the injured to nearby medical facilities.
