The offense is perhaps a touchdown from a season ago in terms of explosiveness, but it still has one of the best offensive coordinators in the sport, Will Stein, and one of the best quarterbacks, Dillon Gabriel. He should have plenty of options here against the weak Maryland defense.

What should alarm Maryland heading into this cross country for this matchup? The weakest part of Maryland’s defense was the secondary. From a pure metric standpoint, he ranks 100th in the nation per return, and what was written on paper heading into this game could be better, too. Maryland allowed 300 consecutive passing plays to its previous two opponents. None of these are exactly stellar. One is against USC’s Miller Moss, who entered the season with high expectations but recently lost his starting spot, and the other is against Max Brosmer, who has been average this season. It begs the question: What happens when they face one of the best in the sport?

Both teams have clear ways to score goals. Oregon should do most of the heavy lifting for us, but Maryland should be able to run the ball and push it to the sideline. Give me Over.
