Journalist claimed he would 'resign' from the Ballon d'Or jury due to 'technical error' in the game

The journalist responded to several Twitter users after the full Ballon d’Or votes were announced.

A journalist has claimed he will resign from the Ballon d’Or voting jury after saying there was a ‘technical error’ in the voting.

Manchester City star Rodry He won the award for the first time in his career real Madrid couple Vinicius Junior And Jude Bellingham.

There was controversy surrounding the award when Real announced they would boycott the award altogether after it became clear that Vinicius would not win.

Los Blancos players and coaching staff took to social media and held public interviews to defend the Brazilian and explain why he deserved to win against Rodri.

The Spaniard received 1,170 votes in total and won the award by 41 points over Vinicius.

On Saturday, the full voting list was finally released, showing the top 10 players voted for by each of the 100 journalists in attendance.

There were three journalists who did not include Vinicius in the top 10 at all: Finland’s Juha Kanerva, El Salvador’s Bruno Porzio, and Namibia’s Sheefeni Nikodemus.

While Porzio and Nikodemus have yet to comment on their decision not to include Vinicius, Kanerva responded directly to Real’s fan page and several other accounts to explain why the striker is not in the top 10.

He revealed he made a ‘technical error’ when casting his vote and claimed he would resign from the Ballon d’Or voting panel. SPORTbible has contacted Ballon d’Or organizers France Football for comment.

HE wrote: “My technical error. I will resign from the Ballon d’Or jury.”
