An A-road is planned to be closed by spring 2025 to allow repairs to be carried out.

The A36 between Limpley Stoke, Wiltshire and Monkton Combe in Somerset will be closed from 21:00 GMT on Sunday.

Contractors will carry out safety improvements, including stabilizing the southbound embankment following a crack in the roadside footpath.

National Highways senior project manager Hugh Campbell said a full closure would allow the scheme to be completed “safely and quickly and will result in less disruption overall”.
