LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Louisiana State Police (LSP) are currently investigating a fatal crash involving an off-duty sheriff’s deputy, according to LSP Officer Matt Gaspard.

At approximately 4:50 this afternoon, state police were notified of a three-vehicle crash on Nelson Road at Plantation Drive. Gaspard said one person died in the accident.

The crash involved an unmarked Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office vehicle driven by an off-duty deputy, according to Gaspard.
