In-N-Out’s Cover to Cover program combines books and burgers – Daily News

There’s still time for kids to dive into books and eat burgers.

This fall, kids ages 4-12 who read five books or 300 minutes (or are read to by an adult) can earn a free burger through In-N-Out’s Cover to Cover Club program at participating local libraries. (Children can win a maximum of 3 hamburgers from the program.)

This fall’s Cover to Cover club event started on October 5 and ends on November 16. (And remember: Libraries will be closed on November 11, or in some cases, on November 12 in honor of Veterans Day.)

The program, which started in 1994, aims to encourage children to read outside the classroom. “In-N-Out has always believed that providing a positive reading experience helps boost children’s self-esteem and motivates them to stay in school,” Denny Warnock, the beloved burger chain’s chief operating officer, said via email.

“In 2023, 593 libraries participated in the Cover to Cover reading program. I can confirm that over 250,000 certificates have been sent to children,” Warnock said.

That’s a lot of burgers and a lot of books.
