Murder suspect wanted in Halloween knife attack surrenders

OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) – A man suspected in a fatal Halloween stabbing in Ozark surrendered to police late Friday, Deputy Chief Micael Bryan said.

Police were looking for 58-year-old Marcus Slater. Eric Lamont identified as suspect in Eutsey’s deathOfficers said the 43-year-old Ozark man suffered multiple injuries.

Investigators say they immediately identified Slater as the suspect.

Slater turned himself in with his attorney and will be taken to the Dale County Jail later Friday, Bryan said.

Officers found Eutsey lying in the roadway with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Dale Medical Center where he later died.

Investigators spoke with witnesses while searching a nearby home and car. Witness statements identified Slaters as the suspect.
