Two people, including a motorcyclist, lost their lives when a motorcycle crashed into a lamp post on the Chattogram Elevated Expressway in Chattogram’s EPZ at midnight last night (November 9).

The deceased were identified as 28-year-old Md Moktar and 36-year-old Md Rubel, residents of Sadarghat district.

Officer-in-Charge of EPZ Police Station Muhammad Akhteruzzaman said that the accident took place around 12 am when the motorcyclist lost control while traveling from Patenga district towards Lalkhan Bazar and the motorcycle crashed into an electric pole and he died on the spot.

Upon being informed, the police retrieved the bodies and sent them to the local hospital morgue.

Police are investigating the accident.
