Police intervene after owner accidentally takes python to Chili’s

Police encountered an unusual sight on November 5 when they spotted a python crawling in the parking lot of a Chili restaurant in Shallotte, North Carolina.

Officers responded to a report of a large snake near Chili’s.

Shallotte police officers found the snake and posted photos of it on their official site Facebook page to notify the pet owner that he/she has received the pet.

Christina Schiel was reunited with her python Una at a local animal shelter.

Schiel said WECT-TV On Nov. 6 in North Carolina, he said the python may have been hiding in his car and possibly escaped while he was at Chili’s.

The pet owner added to the news outlet that Una was slightly injured and a little dehydrated but was in good condition.

WECT reports that pythons are legal pets in North Carolina.
