Philadelphia Phillies They desperately need to make changes to their roster after another disappointing finish in the play-offs, where the offense was seriously underwhelming.

For most of the regular season, the Phillies were one of the best teams in baseball, posting their best record since 2011 and their first NL East title since that year.

But despite going to the World Series in 2022 and returning to the NLDS the following season, Philadelphia was eliminated in four games. New York Mets something that can be defined as nothing less than domination.

We set out for this winter Dave Dombrowski He knows he can’t do anything when it comes to retooling the offense, but with established and critical pieces in the infield, he feels the outfield is the most likely place where big changes could come.

“…the Phils are unlikely to roll out the same roster again in 2024 after a shorter season than hoped,” he wrote. “Marsh and Rojas could form a team because Marsh bats left-handed against the defensively more talented Rojas’ right-handed bat. That could open a path for an incoming outfielder, but Dombrowski has repeatedly taken ‘open-minded’ approaches “His reshaping of his offense has led to natural speculation about trades.”

Of course, when it comes to reshaping the offense and looking to add an outfielder, the first name fans will think of is the prized free agent. Juan Soto.

At this point, doesn’t feel It’s incredibly likely that the Phillies will land a top-notch player for Soto, as it appears that New York Yankees and the Mets are in the running, but never say never.

Even if Philadelphia doesn’t land Soto, watch them very closely as they kick the tires on some of the other top outfielders available in a talent-rich market.
