A 72-year-old man convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting two underage victims over nearly a decade was sentenced Thursday to 27 years in the New Jersey State Prison, according to the Camden County District Attorney’s Office.

A jury found Henry Parker of Pennsauken guilty of multiple child sexual abuse charges in June. During his trial, his victims testified that he abused them at his home from October 2009 until January 2018, when they reported his abusive behavior to police.

Parker was convicted of two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault; five counts of second-degree sexual assault; four counts of second-degree felony endangering the welfare of a child; five counts of third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact; and soliciting or encouraging a minor to engage in prostitution.

He was acquitted of three counts of child endangerment. Three additional charges in his indictment resulted in a hung jury.

Aggravated sexual assault in the first degree applies to serious sexual offenses and is a charge that can result in life imprisonment and a fine of up to $200,000.

The first 24 years of Parker’s total prison sentence will be subject to the New Jersey No Early Release Act, which prohibits defendants from being released until they have served at least 85% of their total prison sentence.
