MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Macon man faces multiple charges after deputies say he set vehicles on fire and shot into neighbors’ homes on Northridge Drive.

According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office incident report and a report, on Tuesday, Nov. 5, deputies responded to a domestic dispute involving a man with a gun. Post on the sheriff’s office Facebook page. Deputies arrived and reported multiple vehicles burned and neighbors’ homes damaged from gunfire. A neighbor reported seeing the suspect, later identified as 51-year-old Scott Malkowski, pour gasoline into their vehicle and ignite it.

At least six vehicles were damaged by fire and bullets, including a 2023 Nissan Rogue, 2010 Mercedes-Benz, 2015 Mercedes-Benz, 2016 Mercedes-Benz, 2018 Nissan Rogue and a 1997 Dodge 1500 pickup truck. The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department responded to the vehicle fires and extinguished the fire, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies said Malkowski, who was locked in his home by his wife due to security concerns, tried to re-enter the house before he was eventually taken into custody.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots outside their home, and deputies later found a rifle at the scene.

Malkowski is charged with simple domestic violence, first- and third-degree arson, aggravated assault and criminal damage to property. He is being held without bail.
