Multiple Raiders Received National Recognition

The Las Vegas Raiders have had a disappointing season after leaving training camp with high expectations. But it almost went south for the Raiders as injuries and trade demands derailed the season.

While the Raiders collectively had a below-average season, many of their players had productive seasons individually. Pro Football Focus’ Khaled Elsayed recently announced the AFC West’s Midseason Team, and the Raiders had multiple players on the list.

Raiders’ star linebacker Maxx Crosby was named one of the division’s top two offensive players. The veteran defensive end has consistently played well regardless of the team’s performance. Crosby has been one of the most productive and consistent players the Raiders have had over the past few seasons.

“Crosby edges out Jonathan Cooper with a superior passing score of 72.5,” Khaled Elsayed said.

Although he is known for his passing abilities, Crosby’s presence and interior defensive line make it difficult for opponents to get the ball past Crosby. Opposing offenses need to deal with Crosby on a weekly basis.

General Manager Tom Telesco and the Raiders made a splash by selecting tight end Brock Bowers in the most recent NFL Draft. The addition of Bowers was a welcome addition to an offense that has struggled to move the ball and score points.

While the Raiders needed help at other positions, they wisely drafted the best player available, and it’s already starting to pay off as Bowers is on a historic pace in many statistical categories.

“It’s pretty significant that this is the only episode where we’ve gone with two tight ends,” Khaled said. “Bowers came on the field as a rookie and has already shown that he is a threat in the passing game, ranking second among the qualifiers with an 88.0 receiving grade.”

Veteran wide receiver Jakobi Meyers was listed on the team as one of the best wide receivers in the division; That’s high praise for a deserving but often overlooked part of the Raiders’ struggling offense. Meyers has also been one of the most consistent players the Raiders have had since arriving last season.

“(Ladd) McConkey and (Jakobi) Meyers are having good seasons, both posting grades of 76.6 or better,” Khaled said. in question.
