The family of the young man who died in the explosion remembers him as a ‘loved brother and son’

The boy killed in an explosion at a house in southern Jordan was remembered as “a beloved brother and son, nephew and grandson” by a family spokesman.

On Friday, his family released information about a seizure that included the name of the 15-year-old Bingham High School student.

“A vigil for the late Logan Hansen will be held tonight at Bingham High School,” according to the vigil announcement, which invited the public to attend and bring a candle.

The vigil will start at 18.30

“Like any high school student, he had friends, he had a community of friends, and he had a lot of people who loved him and cared about him,” Kee’Onu Fuller said.

PREVIOUS REPORTING:

According to a junior at Bingham High School who spoke to 2News, the school announced the child’s death to students and informed them that counselors were available.

“He loved playing video games and was good at it,” Fuller said. “He was very smart about a lot of things.”

Fuller could not say whether the family identified in the GoFundMe campaign as the Hansen family smelled natural gas before the explosion.

South Jordan Mayor Dawn Ramsey Sent to GoFundMe on Facebook page.

The only child in a family of five was a boy.

The Utah State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating, a fire department spokesman said.

Crews from Enbridge, the gas company and South Jordan Fire were also in the area Thursday.
