Three people hospitalized, one seriously injured in I-70 tractor trailer crash in Texas

One person was seriously injured and 2 people were injured when a semi-truck collided with a truck on the I-70 highway on Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia was traveling eastbound on I-70 near mile marker 102.

Records show the semi-truck was traveling near a work area when it moved from the driving lane into the passing lane and skidded off the left side of the road.

The driver overcorrected while turning onto the road and rolled over, going off the left side, hitting the median cable and coming to a stop, blocking both lanes of westbound I-70.

During the incident, the truck’s trailer hitch broke and it rolled onto its side, blocking the eastbound lanes of I-70.

In the accident, the 41-year-old female driver was seriously injured, the 2-year-old male passenger was moderately injured, and the 43-year-old adult male was slightly injured. It was stated that all three passengers in the vehicle were from Little Elm, Texas.

All passengers in the tractor trailer were transported to University Hospital by Cooper County EMS.

MSHP noted that no one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.
