Emmerdale star James Moore has hinted he is secretly marrying his girlfriend two years after getting engaged.

James, who plays Charity Dingle’s son Ryan Stocks in the ITV soap, proposed to Sophie Edwards in May 2022.

The 32-year-old couple announced their engagement on Instagram by sharing several sweet selfies of the couple.

The duo were all smiles as they posed with their cat and Sophie showed off her fancy ring.

James captioned the post: ‘We’re engaged!!!! (with our cat)’

The soap star has since changed his Instagram bio to ‘Sophie Edwards’ Husband’, hinting they are getting married.

She also updated her relationship status on Facebook, according to OK!

The actor changed his bio from ‘in a relationship’ to ‘married’ and tagged Sophie in the post.

Sophie changed her surname to Moore.

In September, James, who joined Emmerdale in 2018, announced they would marry within two months.

After getting their wedding rings made, she posted a photo on Instagram of them posing with their wedding rings.

James wrote: ‘I can’t believe it’s less than two months until Ben and Soph get married!!

‘Time went by so fast but I like to think we were well prepared. ‘We made our wedding rings last week and it felt so special and unique and reminded me that I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with the person I love most.’

Last June, the TV star celebrated her fourth anniversary with a heartfelt social media post.

The 32-year-old actress announced in September that they would get married within two months.

James has ataxic cerebral palsy, the same disability his character Ryan has.

In 2019, he made history by bagging the Best Newcomer gong by becoming the first disabled person to win the National Television Award.

He told the Daily Mirror days after his victory that he was about to quit acting when he got the job in Emmerdale and was told there were no roles for him.
