The Carpenter Center, where Tony Award-nominated singer Melissa Errico brings her inspired music, will be transformed into a sexy and romantic old-school Hollywood venue. noir movies onto the Long Beach stage during a double show called “A Noir Romance.”

The Nov. 13-14 concerts are part of the venue’s Cabaret Series and are the Center’s most intimate performance experience, with the audience seated at tables onstage just feet away from the performer. It’s a fitting setting for an evening of music, where Errico will sing sultry songs about star-crossed loves, mystery, obsessions and thwarted dreams – themes found in film noir.

“A dark and sexy night,” Errico said. “It has everything to do with a fantasy of falling in love with the wrong person, taking the wrong path in your life, walking down the city streets and listening to a lonely trumpet or saxophone.”

She will add to the extravaganza of the night by dressing in classic Hollywood style inspired by movie icon Rita Hayworth. few movies in the dark age. His goal is to make people feel like they’re in a smoke-filled jazz club in New York.

“As an entertainer, an interpretive singer, a cabaret and jazz singer, I think of this as my sexy underwear that I don’t get to reveal very often,” Errico said.

Errico appeared on Broadway in such shows as “My Fair Lady,” “High Society,” “Dracula” and “Les Misérables.” He also had a lifelong love of 1940s American noir films, which he watched every night during the pandemic.
