Police helicopter footage has revealed the extent of Bonfire Night mayhem in a city where 19 people were arrested after police were showered with fireworks.

The footage shows a group of people causing chaos in Edinburgh, throwing fireworks and bullets at officers, vehicles and buildings.

“In Glasgow, officers and colleagues from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service had to respond to unauthorized bonfires and were confronted by large groups of hostile youths in their attendance.

“All of these crimes remain under investigation.

“Between Thursday 31st October and Wednesday 6th November, a total of 19 arrests were made across Scotland in connection with firework attacks.

“Six people have been charged under the Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Substances Act, while a further 26 charges have been laid against individuals in relation to related offences.

“New arrests are expected in the coming days.”
