On 64th Street SW, her daughter’s friends paid their respects with candles and prayers.

Lawmakers investigating deadly shooting at house party in Naples

On Saturday night, you could see several squad cars and crime scene tape blocking 64th Street SW in Naples. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office said gunshots were heard at the home rented for a house party around 9 a.m. Saturday night.

The next day, Arthur’s friends and family arrived to create a memorial of flowers and candles, writing his nickname “DD” in candle along the way. They say Arthur was a senior at Beacon High School. Lorena Metelus, Arthur’s close friend, said he was devastated.

“I will miss you very much. “I will miss you very much,” said Metelus, choking back tears.

Arthur’s cousin said he was always lifting others up. His friend Metelus said Arthur was full of love and laughter and a great friend who was always there for him.

“It was very funny. You are very kind. It was actually too funny. If you knew him and loved him, you would understand what a wonderful person he was. He was always there, always there. Whenever something happened, he would call me to make sure I was okay,” Metelus reflected.

As of Sunday night, Collier County investigators still had many unanswered questions, including whether they had identified a suspect or whether anyone else was in danger.

It also did not specify whether there were drugs or alcohol at the meeting and whether there was any “older adult” supervision at the meeting. Arthur’s friends and family say he didn’t deserve this and hope for justice. “I’m so sorry for his mother, his family and all his friends who had to go through this,” Metelus said.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday night at a house party on 64th Street SW.

Deputies say that there is no one in custody at this stage and the incident is continuing.
