A 49-year-old teacher died of a heart attack while teaching at Panchayat Union Secondary School in Sundapur in the district.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon when Antony Gerald, a resident of Bhoodapadi village near Ammapet, was teaching fourth-grade students when he suddenly felt chest pain, sat down and collapsed.

The students immediately alerted the school principal, who arranged to take him to a nearby doctor.

After the examination, the doctor confirmed that Gerald died of cardiac arrest.

School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi expressed his condolences to Gerald’s family on Thursday.

Teachers and parents gathered that morning to pay their final respects, honoring the late teacher’s dedication and service to his students and the community.
