Deadly crash claims three lives south of Swift Current

A serious crash on Highway 4 south of Swift Current left three people dead.

On November 5, around 3:30 p.m., Swift Current Rural RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision.

The investigation determined that a southbound SUV collided with a northbound car.

It was determined that the driver and two passengers in the vehicle died at the scene. It was determined that the people in question were a 41-year-old woman and two young girls aged 13 and 14.

Their families were informed.

The adult male driver, the sole occupant of the SUV, was taken to the hospital, but it was learned that his life was not in danger.

Swift Current Rural RCMP continues to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

RCMP did not provide further details on whether the collision was weather-related. However, authorities in the region reported that visibility was poor and the roads were slippery.

Highway 4 was closed but reopened.
