Incheon, Republic of Korea – The United Services Organization honored distinguished soldiers from the United States, the Republic of Korea and the United Nations Command at the 51st annual Six Star Service Salute Gala held this year at the Inspire Entertainment Resort in Incheon. First launched in 1970 by a coalition of Korean civilian leaders, this prestigious event aims to express Korea’s enduring gratitude to exemplary young soldiers for their dedication and service.

This year, the USO recognized 86 outstanding soldiers who demonstrated exemplary leadership potential and contributed to strengthening the alliance between the United States and South Korea. Selected by their commanders, these honored participants represent the best of emerging leaders from the ranks of the United States, South Korea and the UNC. Each of them made significant progress in promoting international friendship, cooperation and camaraderie during their service.

“Your commander hand-picked you for your strength, your character, and your mission to fulfill. Thank you for your commitment to excellence because we need it,” said Lt. Gen. Christopher LeNeve, Eighth Army commander. “When I look across the room and look at the honorees, I see future leaders. Leader development is the most important thing we do every day. “It helps us strengthen our future.”

The Six Star Service Salute is one of the most famous events on the USO calendar and symbolizes the longstanding alliance and friendship between Korea and the United States. The event highlights the contributions of soldiers whose efforts have strengthened military alliances and fostered a unique bond between the two countries.

“Just like tonight, we appreciate your determination to continue the tradition of correcting ROK-US alliance traditions,” said Command Sgt. Major Jack Love, senior advisor to United States Forces Korea. “And it is an absolute honor to serve with all of you.”
