Garry Ringrose says Ireland are determined to maintain their impressive home form by aiming for a 20th consecutive win against the All Blacks at the Aviva Stadium on Friday night.

Andy Farrell’s side have made their Dublin ground one of the most intimidating arenas for visiting teams in recent years, with their last defeat coming against France in the 2021 Six Nations.

Ireland will host New Zealand, as well as Argentina, Fiji and Australia, at international competitions in November.

“It gets more and more special with every experience we have there,” Ringrose said.

“Some results where we had our backs against the wall, even thinking about Australia (2016), that was the last Test of the November series.

“This was Besty’s (Rory Best) 100th game and there were a few injuries but we came out the other end and won a game like this.

“It makes us all appreciate what’s going to happen this weekend. Every result we get there adds to the legacy and we definitely want to continue that.”

Ringrose was an unused substitute during Ireland’s historic win over the All Blacks in Chicago in 2016 but has faced them seven times since then.

The 29-year-old is expected to start on Friday, when he could face the New Zealand center partnership of Rieko Ioane and Leinster-bound Jordie Barrett.

“I was keeping an eye on them during the Rugby Championship. They’re pretty settled and cohesive as a partnership,” Ringrose said.

“I was watching them at the weekend against a tough England team that had everything going for them. They seemed to be taking it all away, as they always do, so we’ve got our work cut out for us on that front.”
