Check out the Election Integrity Command Center

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Attorney General’s Office was busy tracking complaints, taking questions and investigating suspected election fraud this election day.

It all happens at the Election Integrity Command Center in Frankfurt.

“We want to show Kentuckians that we take voter fraud seriously,” says Attorney General Russell Coleman. “We take election integrity seriously.”

That’s the message Attorney General Russell Coleman wanted to emphasize at a news conference at headquarters Tuesday morning.

Investigators, prosecutors, and Attorney General staff operate the Election Fraud Hotline.

As of 10:00 on Tuesday morning, 156 reports from 32 districts had reached the center.

Many of these reports are due to technical issues at various polling places in Jefferson County.

“I can’t offer a broader view of what happened other than it’s resolved as quickly as possible and the nation votes back and this issue is now resolved. I understand this happened over multiple votes. It wasn’t just one vote.” location,” explains Coleman.

The Hotline was created for Kentuckians to call and report suspected election fraud or address any questions about voting procedures, legal questions, and allegations of vote buying and selling.

If the caller receives a credible report of fraud, the office will forward it to the Division of Criminal Investigations, or “DCI,” and detectives will then work with federal, state and local law enforcement to address the case, Coleman said.

The Helpline will be open 24/7 after the election.

“Over the next few days, I will randomly select 12 counties for an additional investigation and additional oversight. In those counties, DCI detectives will speak with election officials, interview voters, and review documents. Our special program, the Prosecutor’s Office, will then handle those investigations and present them to the grand jury in all 17 counties .”

Coleman says his goal is to ensure a fair and secure election here in the Commonwealth.

“Today, when the polls close and the winners are announced, I hope every Kentuckian, from the mountains to the Jackson Purchase, can rest assured that our elections are fair and secure and that our constitutional order works,” says Coleman.
