Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance votes in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI — Republican Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance returned to Cincinnati to cast his vote on Election Day.

Vance, along with his wife and children, came to St. Louis on Victory Parkway to vote Tuesday morning. Anthony came to the Church of Padua.

After voting, he addressed members of the press outside the district.

“Look, I feel good,” Vance said. “You never know until you find out, but I feel good about this race.”

Vance said his family plans to return home after voting before heading to Palm Springs to await election results. He added that he expects to win the race, but ultimately hopes the cracks can be closed after the election.

“I think our message is, first and foremost, we expect to win, but as you said, whoever wins half the country is going to be at least partially disappointed,” Vance said. “I think my attitude is the best way to heal the rift in the country; to try to run the country as best we can, to create as much prosperity as we can for the American people, and to remind our fellow Americans that we are all fundamentally the same on the same team.”

He added that he believes Trump’s policies will “promote peace and prosperity for our citizens.”

Trump picks Vance to join him on Republican ticket in July; The former president made the announcement at Truth Social as the Republican National Convention got underway in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Middletown, Ohio native and “Hillbilly Elegy” author was supported by Former President Donald Trump during his run for the Ohio Senate, but the pair’s relationship became rocky at times.
