Washington, D.C. — An overnight shooting in Savannah Terrace in Southeast Washington left one person dead and another injured, prompting a homicide investigation in the area.

The incident occurred just before 22:00 on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Residents reported gunshots heard in the 2100 block of Savannah Terrace, SE. Responding officers discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound; He was conscious and breathing and was quickly transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While the police continued their search in the area, a second gun attack victim was also detected nearby. Later identified as 25-year-old Lorenzo Campbell Jr. of Fort Washington, Maryland. The man identified as the man was also transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
