Harris vowed to be ‘president for all Americans’, warning that a single state would decide the election

Despite the cold weather and the long wait, the crowd of tens of thousands went crazy for Kamala Harris as she took the stage in Philadelphia.

The Democratic presidential candidate is making one of his final appeals to voters.

“Our campaign tapped into the passions, aspirations, and dreams of the American people,” he tells supporters.

“It is time for a new generation of leadership in America.”

But he says “the race is not over yet” and that this could be one of the “closest races in history.”

“You will determine the outcome of this election in Pennsylvania,” he adds.

“Make no mistake, we will win.”

Chants of “we will win” rise from the crowd, but some people choose to leave the audience instead.

“America is ready for a new beginning, a new path forward,” Ms. Harris says.

“I will spend every day working on my to-do list on your behalf.”

It sets out a number of policies for working families, such as tax cuts, lowering healthcare costs, lowering the cost of living, and securing abortion rights.

His famous campaign slogan “we won’t go back” echoes from Eakins Oval.

“I’m not trying to score political points, I’m trying to make progress,” he says.

“I promise to always put my country above path and person and be a president for all Americans.”

He finishes by telling the crowd that his campaign should end with optimism and joy.

“When we do it together, we can overcome any challenge we face,” he says.

“Our grassroots support movement reflects a simple truth: we are all in this together.”

The crowd applauds when Ms. Harris’s signature song, Beyonce’s Freedom, plays.
