73-year-old woman found dead in Southfield apartment fire

Dozens of people were displaced

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – A 73-year-old woman died in a fire in an apartment in Southfield.

3 people affected by the smoke in the fire were slightly injured and one person was taken to the hospital.

The fire occurred on Monday, November 4. Le Chateau apartments on Southfield Road, near 10 Mile Road.

Fire crews from six neighboring settlements helped extinguish the fire.

The fire, which was thought to have started in an apartment on the second floor, spread rapidly, causing the roof to collapse and 32 apartments to be damaged or destroyed.
