On Monday, the sheriff’s office said that while an administrative review of the two incidents is ongoing, it has found no evidence of misconduct by the officers involved.

“In this case, the cell phone camera footage that has been in circulation since Saturday does not comprehensively reflect the circumstances surrounding these events,” Sheriff TK Waters said at a press conference Monday afternoon. he said.

“Even though it looked difficult, they (officers) handled the problem professionally,” Waters added.

Total eight arrests and 35 dismissals Waters said this was the result of Saturday’s football game between the University of Florida and the University of Georgia.

What did the body camera footage show?

1st incident: Walter Brown

The first incident, which is part of the sheriff’s office’s administrative review, occurred during a game on Saturday around 4:20 p.m.

The two boys allegedly approached a stadium security guard, also known as a SAFE employee, and asked to enter a ticketed section of the stadium. According to the sheriff’s office, the SAFE employee told the children they had to ask their parents and come back with a ticket for entry.

During the interaction between the SAFE employee and the children, Walter Brown, identified by police as the children’s father, arrived and allegedly pushed the SAFE employee, accusing him of kidnapping his children.

Instead of contacting Brown, the SAFE employee contacted sheriff’s deputies working at the game and reported what happened.

When officers met with Brown, they informed him that he had been ejected from the game, to which Brown responded, “No I’m not.”

“Do you remember what I told you, I’m either going to kill a cop or I’m not leaving,” Brown is later heard saying on police body camera footage.

Brown was heard making racial slurs several times at a police officer who was trying to escort him from the stands.

Officers resort to assault to subdue Brown because he does not comply with orders.

However, even after being hit by several Tasers, Brown continues to struggle with officers and even appears to attempt to unholster an officer’s gun before officers finally escort him away.

Event 2: Alexander and Michael Long, Brandon Boley

In a second and separate incident on Saturday, Another video shared on X showed According to a FOX 35 Orlando report, it appeared there was an altercation between sheriff’s deputies and fans during the football game.

The 15-second video was released just before 7 p.m. ET and showed a police officer repeatedly punching someone in the stands. The person tried to cover his face as he lay down on the hallway steps. The same video shows another officer hitting another person down the hall.

Body camera footage released by the sheriff’s office on Monday managed to provide some context as to what led to the violent altercation between officers and game spectators.

Before the altercation, a woman attending the match approached one of the officials and reported that there was chaos in the stands.

The officer followed the woman, who pointed to the general area where there was some sort of disturbance.

When officers finally approached those individuals, someone who appeared to be a stadium security guard was trying to remove several people from the game.

When officers tried to get the men out, they did not comply.

After the brawl, the police managed to take all three people out without any further incident.

All of the officers involved in both incidents were still on active duty at the time.

Jacksonville Mayor responds to viral fight videos

Jacksonville Mayor Donna Keegan released a statement through a spokesperson: “I am aware of several disturbing videos circulating from yesterday’s game. I have spoken with Sheriff Waters and the incidents are being investigated. We await the outcome of this investigation.”

A University of Florida spokesman declined to comment and deferred questions to the sheriff’s office.
