West Fargo Veterans Day and Thanksgiving closures and trash program changes 2024

WEST FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – The City of West Fargo is closed on Monday, November 11 for Veterans Day. Garbage and recycling collections will be delayed one day for the entire week.

On Monday, November 11, all city halls are closed to the public, including City Hall, the Public Library, Sanitation, Public Works, and the Transfer Station. Public safety agencies are fully operational, but the West Fargo Police and Fire Halls are closed to the public on this day.

The City of West Fargo has three areas for residents who want to honor veterans on Veterans Day. Located at 400 Sheyenne Street, POW/MIA Plaza, next to the West Fargo VFW Post #7564, is a public park commemorating POWs and those missing in action. Maplewood Park, located at 1504 17th Avenue E., is home to the Veterans Memorial, honoring those who served. The 4th Street E. tree dedication north of 31st Avenue E. near Maple Ridge Park includes trees planted as dedications to local fallen heroes.

Thanksgiving closures and trash schedule changes

The City of West Fargo is closed Thursday, November 28 through Friday, November 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. No trash or recycling will be collected on Thursday, November 28th. Thursday garbage recycling collection will take place on Friday, November 29th.
