Horizon Credit Union showed its commitment to animals in need by presenting a $1,000 check to the Great Falls Animal Shelter this week.

The initiative, made possible through Horizon’s ‘Pet Paw-see’ competition, helps animal welfare organisations.

Brittany Riley, Horizon’s Credit Union branch manager, said they are happy the Great Falls pet community will be supported this time.

“We want to make sure we take care of everyone in the community, not just our members but our members’ pets as well. We want to provide this opportunity to not only help our members with financial education, hunger, opportunity and housing, but also for the animals in the community,” Riley said.

The contest invited community members in Montana, Oregon, Idaho and Washington to submit photos of their favorite pets.

Allister, an adorable little Yorkie, was crowned the 2024 Pet Paw-see Champion.

Allister’s owner decided to donate $1,000 to the real winner of the contest, the Great Falls Animal Shelter, which will use the money to provide care, shelter and resources to pets in need.

For pet owners participating in the contest, it was an opportunity to showcase their furry family members while supporting the shelter’s mission.

Horizon Credit Union hopes to continue similar initiatives in the future.
