At least 6 Lubbock businesses went on a robbery spree early Monday. Here’s what we know

A series of burglaries at 82nd Street and Indiana Avenue left windows and machinery broken at many businesses and restaurants early Monday. Lubbock police confirmed these incidents are related.

Rachel’s Restaurant, 3416 82nd St., reported around 6:41 a.m. Monday that the restaurant sustained damage overnight Sunday into Monday.

“As if it wasn’t hard enough for us small businesses right now, we’re guessing someone decided to destroy our restaurant to raise cash,” the restaurant said on social media. “We currently have a ton of damage to our building to repair, but please still stop by and dine with us or pick up some food. We would appreciate it as we have to pay for these repairs now.”

Rachel’s was only one of at least six, according to LPD. While LPD did not name the businesses, many of the affected locations appealed for support on social media.

“Early this morning, Ralph’s Records, Bricks & Minifigs, Rachel’s, and Ravi’s (and more I don’t know about) were all broken into,” Ralph’s Records said on social media. “We got lucky, not sure how others turned out. So if you’re in the neighborhood, go support your local business that’s down on their luck!”

The current list of confirmed affected businesses includes:

  • Rachel’s Restaurant.

  • Ralph’s Records, 3322 82nd St.

  • Bricks & Minifigs, 8004 Indiana Ave.

  • A restaurant at 8004 Indiana Ave.

  • A barber shop in the 3400 block of 82nd Street.

  • A nail salon in the 3400 block of 82nd Street.

There have been no arrests as of Monday.
