GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville Police Department is warning residents about scammers posing as Greenville County deputies over the phone.

Officers report scammers are calling Greenville residents, posing as deputies and claiming to have an active arrest warrant against the person receiving the call.

Police say scammers demand money and may send a fake search warrant to the 4 McGee Street address and threaten arrest if the caller hangs up.

Authorities ask citizens to immediately hang up and block their numbers if they receive a call from these scammers.
