Monday Morning Mock Draft: Become a Jaguars Land Top

The Jacksonville Jaguars are projected to draft everywhere from cornerback to safety to offensive line.

One need is more dire than the others, and that’s pretty obvious to anyone paying attention. Who do the Jaguars take in this edition of the Monday Morning Mock Draft?

1. New York Giants (via trade with NE) – Cam Ward, QB, Miami

The Giants gave Daniel Jones one last chance through the 2024 season. There was no result. They’re getting aggressive and tearing him down to rebuild with a new quarterback by drafting Miami’s Cam Ward. A thin and experienced passer.

2. Tennessee Titans – Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama

The Will Levis Experiment is probably over. This will be the third quarterback in four drafts. That’s why the franchise has already been withdrawn. Milroe is everything the previous two quarterbacks were not; dynamic. Exciting with ball in hand. He has an elite arm.

3. Carolina Panthers – Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

Maybe the best point guard in this draft. Many may forget about him due to the perceived burden, while others may be turned off by his personality. Sanders could easily make the play, and the Panthers are betting their future on a high-ceiling, surprisingly high-floor signal-caller.

4. Cleveland Browns – Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

Surprisingly, the Browns don’t lack much. What they desperately need is a playmaker on offense. Hunter is the most exciting player in the draft. He will most likely be WR1.

5. New Orleans Saints – Mason Graham, DL, Michigan

The saints have holes almost everywhere. They will be in restructuring. One of their biggest problems is getting beat up in the trenches. They’re drafting the best player available here and getting a high-motor, versatile defender and playmaker who can eat off the floor.

6. New England Patriots (via trade with NYG) – Will Campbell, OT, LSU

Rookie point guard Drake Maye is looking really good so far. The Patriots believe they’ve found the right guy. Now it’s a matter of protecting that investment. They have the best offensive tackle in the draft.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars – Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas

There’s a “Help Wanted” sign at EverBank Stadium. The Jaguars have a lot of needs, but they need to take care of one thing first: protecting Trevor Lawrence, Shad Khan’s $275 million quarterback.

8. Miami Dolphins – Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

The Dolphins need help in the secondary, interior offensive line and throughout the defensive line. But Johnson is a tool-loving cornerback with the toughness and intangibility that comes with his Jim Harbaugh-Wolverine pedigree. Johnson is too tempting for Miami to pass up.

9. Las Vegas Raiders – Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

They tried their luck in the desert. Invest in a strong roster and give offseason transfer Gardner Minshew II a chance. This didn’t work. Let’s go back to Aidan O’Connell in the fourth round of the second year. He was injured. The Raiders are going for it, and Dart is a rising name in this year’s quarterback class.

10. New York Jets – Deone Walker, DL, Kentucky

The Jets have a great defense. They continue to build on that with one of the most dominant presences in this class. Look for the Jets to see a forward or offensive tackle here as well.

11. Dallas Cowboys – Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

Nowadays, many people make fun of stepping back in the first round. Look at the reaction Detroit got when it drafted Jahmyr Gibbs. But look how it turned out. Jeanty is a volatile talent with all the tools and could win the Heisman Trophy. It’s too good for Jerry Jones to pass up.

12. Los Angeles Rams – Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri

Cooper Kupp He’s not getting any younger. So is Matthew Stafford. The Rams already have a strong offense with wide receiver Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams leading the offense. They added a wide receiver who has drawn comparisons to the San Francisco 49ers’ Deebo Samuel.

13. Indianapolis Colts – Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

He is the only player in the draft who is by far the best at his position. Loveland is symbolic of the harsh ending; A big, athletic frame to go with his route-running skills and pass-catching ability. He’s not a can’t-miss prospect like last year’s top tight end, Brock Bowers, but he’s pretty close.

14. Tampa Bay Pirates – Nic Scourton, Edge, Texas A&M

The Buccaneers have a lot of good work. What they lack (and have) is a true effective forward runner. Scourton has the frame and skill set that NFL scouts desire. Tampa Bay is looking for a Pro Bowl pass rusher.

15. Chicago Bears – Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia (bears go to best player)

Perhaps for the first time in the storied franchise’s history, the Bears may have better prospects offensively than defensively. They’re trying to balance that out, opting for a forward rusher who could make NFC North quarterbacks groan when they see Chicago on the schedule.

16. Seattle Seahawks – Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

Ten years ago, the best minor league in the NFL belonged to the Pacific Northwest. Now it’s 2024 and Seattle has one of the worst secondary in the NFL. They’re trying to fix it with best-in-class security.

17.Denver Broncos – Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

McMillan could be considered one of the five best players in the draft come April. He’s a game changer and that’s exactly what the Broncos desperately need at the wide receiver position. Bo Nix wants to throw downfield (probably).

18. Los Angeles Chargers (via trade with CIN) – Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn State

Jim Harbaugh knows he’ll likely be facing a rookie quarterback (or veteran bridge), second-year Bo Nix and Patrick Mahomes on the Raiders. He also wants to restore defense and toughness to the Chargers. Carter’s lineage and traits are too intriguing for Harbaugh to pass up.

19. Arizona Cardinals – Aireontae Ersery, OT, Minnesota

Kyler Murray does so much with so little. They already have a WR1 in 2024 first-round pick Marvin Harrison Jr., and they also have one of the league’s best young tight ends in Trey McBride. Now the Cardinals can give him some much-needed protection.

20.San Francisco 49ers – James Pierce, Edge, Tennessee

Pierce was once considered a key player in the Top 10. With this out-of-this-world talent he has, it’s hard to believe he’ll be far behind. The 49ers need someone who is the exact opposite of Nick Bosa. Pierce could be that piece, which is a scary prospect for the NFC.

21. Cincinnati Bengals (via trade with LAC) – Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

Egbuka was dominant for the Buckeyes. He looks more like an NFL WR1 next week. Playing with what may be Jeremiah Smith’s most electric freshman receiver of all time offers a way to slip under the radar. The Bengals won’t need to look for another Joe Burrow weapon.

22. Atlanta Falcons (via trade with HOU) – Shemar Stewart, Edge, Texas A&M

The Falcons have Matthew Judon, but the need for a pass rusher will continue until they find someone who is the exact opposite of the former Patriots star. Stewart looks like a solid choice for the Falcons with his length and athleticism. (So did Dallas Turner or Laiatu Latu in last year’s draft).

23. Green Bay Packers – TJ Sanders, DL, South Carolina

The Packers have many weapons on both sides of the ball. Their defense is young but very promising (thanks to the incredible draft) and that could be the difference for them against the high-powered offenses of the NFC North.

24. Philadelphia Eagles – Jack Sawyer, Edge, Ohio State

Sawyer has the motor, athleticism and durability. Seems right for Philadelphia. The Eagles are not far from having an elite defense. They need to put more consistent pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The Ohio State product could be the answer.

25. Houston Texans (via trade with ATL) – Danny Stutsman, LB, Oklahoma

The Texans have a relatively young roster and are solid from top to bottom. It’s hard to point out a glaring weakness, but finding a three-down defender who does it all can be difficult. Stutsman could be a plug-and-play for DeMeco Ryans.

26. Pittsburgh Steelers – Jalen Royals, WR, Utah State

The Royals’ foot injury shouldn’t hinder their draft stock too much. He’s dynamic at wideout and the Steelers’ offense is severely lacking a playmaker. The Royals have the right stuff. And the Steelers aren’t afraid to take calculated risks.

27. Minnesota Vikings – Denzel Burke, CB, Ohio State

This is another team with very few, if any, deficits. The secondary is probably a good place to start; especially considering how good Detroit, Chicago and Green Bay’s pass catchers are. An eraser corner can come in handy.

28. Baltimore Ravens – Landon Jackson, Edge, Arkansas

The Ravens should have one of the best defenses in the league on paper. They have little to no downside, but they continue to struggle to get to the quarterback. They’re taking the best edge rusher available.

29. Washington Commanders – Jonah Savaiinaea, OT, Arizona

The Commanders have already completed the toughest leg of the Super Bowl race: securing a quarterback. Beyond that, Jayden Daniels looks like a generational talent. Now it’s a matter of preserving this talent. Commanders make an offensive intervention.

30. Buffalo Bills – Davison Igbinosun, CB, Ohio State

Crime clicks. The defense could have been better, though. Especially in the background. Perhaps what the Bills need most is a lock-down corner. Help with transition rush is also at the top of their shopping list.

31.Detroit Lions – Donovan Jackson, G, Ohio State

The Lions have the best offensive line in football and it’s not even close. But the interior is getting older. If Dan Campbell wants to continue this dominant, opponent-busting offensive attack, keeping the interior strong could be a good start.

32. Kansas City Chiefs – Derrick Harmon, DL, Oregon

They keep rolling. Somehow. It doesn’t matter what the Chiefs have or don’t have; They keep finding ways to win. Organization, coaching, quarterback — those three pillars are all they need. They continue to form an already formidable defense.
