LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — One person was killed in a crash in the south valley Sunday night.

The incident happened around 8:07 p.m. on South Durango Road, south of Blue Diamond Road.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 2012 Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound in Durango when a 28-year-old man began crossing the Durango on foot outside a marked crosswalk.

Police said the Toyota struck the pedestrian just south of Blue Diamond Road.

Medical personnel took the man to University Medical Center Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The pedestrian’s death was the 130th traffic-related fatality of 2024 under the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction.

The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
