Liam Payne’s Netflix series ‘Building the Band’ put on hold after singer’s death

Liam Payne’s upcoming Netflix series “Building the Band” has reportedly been put on hold following the singer’s tragic death.

“Netflix will meet with Liam’s family when the time comes to talk about the series and when it might air,” a source said. He told the US Sun Sunday.

“There is no rush or pressure to broadcast the series. “This would just be a beautiful tribute to Liam and capture him at his best in the months before his death.”

Payne served as a mentor on the UK-based competition series alongside Pussycat Dolls alum Nicole Scherzinger and Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland. AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys was the emcee.

Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber said last week that Scherzinger was one of the last people to communicate with Payne before his death.

“I think one thing that hasn’t been said, and I guess I can say, is that he mentored Liam from One Direction,” Webber told Billboard when discussing Scherzinger’s Broadway debut in “Sunset Blvd.”

“He was still there on Wednesday when he died. “I was texting him that day.”

Scherzinger first met Payne in 2011, when she was a judge on “The X Factor UK.”
