A seven-year-old girl from Plymouth says she’s had her “best day ever” after a “tough time” as she was promoted to the “chief entertainment officer” (CFO) position at a shopping mall in the city.

Ellie, from Plympton, spent a day at Drake Circus shopping center last week with official duties including testing toys, going to the cinema and making bath bombs.

She was hired by the mall team after applying, who said she “stood out” because of her “fun-loving nature.”

Mum Corinne, who is undergoing cancer treatment, said it was a welcome event after Ellie couldn’t do much during the summer break due to her treatment.
