A video of a laboratory officer performing an ECG (electrocardiogram) scan on a patient at a hospital in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, after learning about the procedure from YouTube, went viral on social media.

In the video, the attendant at Satellite Hospital in Paota is seen performing an ECG on the patient while watching a YouTube tutorial on his phone.

Despite repeated requests from the patient and his family for a doctor or qualified personnel, the hospital employee continued to perform an ECG in a seemingly uncaring manner. The man silently watched YouTube tutorials even as video of the incident was being recorded, demonstrating a shocking disregard for proper medical protocol.

The person who shot the video claimed that nurses were also involved in the incident. Meanwhile, the attendant admitted that he did not know how to perform an ECG but explained that he had to try the procedure himself as no employee was on duty due to Diwali.

After the video went viral on social media, BS Jodha, principal of the affiliated medical college, said that the incident was under investigation. He confirmed that necessary action will be taken against those responsible.
