Food waste collection will begin in some areas in north-east Cornwall, council bosses said.

new system There is a food box indoors; Residents are asked to place waste items such as tea bags, eggshells and vegetable peelings into biodegradable bags and then place the bags in a larger outdoor bin for collections.

The new system, which has been introduced across Cornwall, aims to reduce the amount of non-recyclable rubbish produced in the county by turning food waste into farmyard manure and clean energy, the council said.
