Adele had an unexpected fangirl moment as she kicked off the Halloween weekend at her home in Las Vegas. The “Someone Like You” singer got into the Halloween spirit by dressing up as someone. Meryl Streep‘s most iconic characters – and shared a sweet moment with the Academy Award-winning actress when he spotted her in the crowd.

The “Rolling in the Deep” singer channeled Streep’s character, Madeline Ashton, from the 1992 film for Adele’s Weekends in Las Vegas residency on Friday, Nov. 1. Per a video shared by one person Adele’s fan account on InstagramThe singer could be seen wearing a platinum blonde wig with a deep side part, a silver necklace and a silver silk jacket like the one Streep wore in the camp classic.

While belting out “When We Were Young,” Adele appeared to notice Streep in the crowd for the first time and walked over to her. The “Rolling in the Deep” singer was clearly in awe and said “Hello” and bowed. They appeared to exchange admiring glances when Streep greeted him, and the two then hugged each other.

Adele continued to sing during the embrace. The Devil Wears Prada the actor replied, “I love you.”

The sweet moment came just days after Adele shared a similar post. Celine Dion during his show on October 26. According to videos shared by concertgoers, Adele was singing “When We Were Young” when she saw Dion in the crowd and approached her. As they hugged, Adele burst into tears and kissed his hand.

took it later X (formerly Twitter)) to explain why the moment was so special to him. “I’ve been performing in Celine Dion’s room at the Colosseum for almost 2 years,” he explained. “It was the only venue I wanted to play in Vegas because it was built for it.”

She continued, “There’s a photo of her right next to the stage that I touch every night before I walk and she came to the show this weekend and it was a surprise and a MOMENT!!”
