Seven people were injured in central Israel after three shells were fired from Lebanon early on Saturday, the national ambulance service said.

The Israeli army said the bullets were fired into Israeli territory and sirens were blaring in some areas of central Israel. It was stated that some bullets were seized.

The army said, “Most likely, a fallen bullet was detected in the area” and noted that the details were being investigated.

The national ambulance service and local media said the injuries were mild to moderate, while two other people suffered symptoms of stress.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq later said in a statement that it had launched the drones at a “vital target” in northern Israel. It was not immediately clear whether the group’s action was related to the injuries.
