MACKINAC COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) – A missing man with dementia was found dead in Brevort Township on Friday after being reported missing the previous day.

Michigan State Police (MSP) St. Ignace Post says the 59-year-old man from Westland, MI walked away from a residence in Brevort Township Thursday evening. According to MSP, the man had dementia.

Despite extensive search efforts, the suspect was later pronounced dead on Friday. MSP said the cause of death is currently under investigation, but there are no signs of foul play at this time.
